What is a lingual brace and how does it work?
Lingual braces are bespoke custom made braces. The braces are fitted to the backs of your teeth; making them invisible. Other braces such as the Invisalign aligner system are very discreet, but the lingual braces are placed completely out of sight. They work by putting gentle forces on your teeth, encouraging them into their positions using a series of traditional and modified techniques.
Why chose a lingual brace over any other brace?
Lingual braces are designed mainly to improve the visible smile, focusing on the six teeth at the front of your mouth. It’s quicker than any other orthodontic system and is ideal for people that are in the public eye, or people who simply do not want visible braces on their teeth. Great improvements can be made to your facial symmetry, improving the aesthetics of your smile. Another fantastic benefit is that there is no need to worry about getting the lingual braces stained from foods/drinks because they are invisible. These braces are becoming extremely popular for obvious reasons.
Am I suitable?
Lingual braces are suitable for straightening crooked teeth which require mild to moderate movement and for closing gaps in-between teeth. A dentist would need to check suitability. Dr Craig Lewis has undergone further training to learn how to place these braces, and provides consultations free of charge.
