Our Team

Craig is passionate about overall comprehensive dental health. This has led him to further train in orthodontics and facially generated treatment planning.

He has over 11 years’ experience treating adults and children in the discipline of orthodontics, and from further studying he now holds a Post Graduate Diploma in orthodontics.

He finds minimally invasive dentistry his passion, which heavily entails tooth alignment, tooth whitening and composite bonding.  These treatments create natural healthy smiles.

Driven by preoperative photographs, digital scans and trial smiles, his patients can play a part in the planning process and be included in making decisions at every step of the treatment.

Craig is certified & trained in various cosmetic brace systems to straighten teeth. He is trained & approved to use Damon braces, Ormco ceramic Symetri, Six Month Smiles, Quick Straight Teeth, Invisalign Clear Aligners & the Inman Aligner.

Carrying out a comprehensive assessment of the patient and the mouth/ face as a whole is what Craig feels is necessary to be able to deliver quality and evidence-based dentistry.

Craig is trained in using dental implants by one of the most widely used implant systems in the world – Dental Biohorizons and works closely with local surgeons to help co-ordinate implant placements. This is the most effective way of replacing a tooth & can be done by spreading the cost by using one of our monthly payment plans.

Marco is originally from South Korea and attended secondary school in London.  After this he has settled down in South Wales after graduating from Cardiff University in 2011. He studied with the principal dentist Dr Craig Lewis and they also shared a house together at the university for 4 years and have remained good friends since.

He has developed his skills by pursuing a master’s degree in Restorative and Aesthetics Dentistry in Manchester University (2016) and has a keen eye for detail when it comes to reproducing natural function and aesthetics.

Marco has undertaken  further training in implant dentistry using the Bio horizons system and also the Osstem Dental implant system and places dental implants at Birchgrove Dental Practice using 3-D CBCT scans and digital impressions for accurate and careful implant placement.

Marco has undertaken further orthodontic training for clear aligner braces and white ceramic braces for comprehensive orthodontic treatments that he can offer his patients.
Marco strives to provide professional, honest and caring dental care to all patients and believes in a friendly and calming approach.

He is a dedicated family man who enjoys good food and good company with his wife and young son and has two cats named Yuki and Ziggy.

Beth grew up in Ogmore-By-Sea but has lived in Cardiff since the year 2000. Beth is a fluent Welsh speaker having done all of her education through the medium of Welsh.
Beth graduated Cardiff(Met) in 2003 with a BA(Hons) Management degree. She also achieved a postgraduate Teaching Degree from Cardiff University whilst working in the Specialist Teaching sector with Behaviour Support.

Beth enjoys the simple life; the great outdoors, to travel, eating good food and spending time with family and friends.

Beth is a fitness/gym enthusiast. As a result of this hard work & determination, she won the overall Great British title whilst competing in 2012 in the bodybuilding industry – bikini division, and has further won another 2 competitions just recently in August 2023.

Tess has been at Birchgrove Dental Practice for over 10 years. She has previously worked as an experienced dental nurse and has a vast dental knowledge and is always happy to help.

Tess has a previous working background as an accounts clerk and was a director in a construction company for ten years.

Tess loves to go out to eat and dancing. Her favourite restaurants include Valentino’s and the Plough, in Whitchurch. Tess enjoys spending her time with her grandchildren in West Wales at the weekends, especially when the weather allows them to go swimming. Tess loves the family-run feel of Birchgrove Dental Practice especially the personal touch that we can offer to all of our patients.

Debbie has joined the practice as part of our Reception team. She also qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2009.

Outside of work Debbie likes walking and has an interest in DIY.

Karen is an expert in the caring of gums and teeth. She plays a huge role in helping our patients to care for their oral hygiene whilst giving advice and prevention information.

Karen has worked at Birchgrove Dental Practice for many years, and did so as a Dental Nurse, before graduating in with her diploma in Dental Hygiene in 1992

Seren is originally from Derby. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2009. She thoroughly enjoys her role and is very good with dentally anxious patients and children.

Seren is trained in assisting with dental implants and enjoys new challenges in her work.

Outside of work Seren enjoys watching murder documentaries. Both inside and outside of work she does enjoy a good joke, she has a very bubbly; happy personality which ultimately is what puts patients at ease in her company.

Celyn is our newest team member. She is settling in very well and is enjoying learning Orthodontic procedures. Outside of work, Celyn enjoys family time and going out walking her dogs.

Lisa has over 25 years’ experience as a dental nurse and holds the National Certificate for Dental Nurses. She has vast knowledge within her field and thoroughly enjoys her work.

Lisa also qualified as an Oral Health Educator in 2014. She feels passionate about promoting excellent Oral Hygiene for all ages. She particularly enjoys working with nervous patients and children and tries to make our patients visit to the practice as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Outside of work family time is important, Lisa is happily married with two children. She has been a Beaver Scout Leader at her local scout group in Rumney for the last 4 years. This is something she really enjoys doing. She always seems to be planning the next adventure for them.

Lillie is our newest team member who joined us in January 2024.  Lillie is originally from Essex. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2020.

Her favourite part of dental nursing is helping to make nervous patients feel at ease and supported throughout their dental journey at the practice.

Lillie has recently returned from travelling around South East Asia. In her spare time, she enjoys experimenting with cooking different dishes from the countries she has visited.
